Abstract
The collection of associations, committees and working groups involved in the organization of dentistry in the United Kingdom must be unique internationally. For a fiercely independent profession in a nation with a distaste for bureaucracy we have surely some explaining to do, or even pruning to consider. When there are so many voices, are the messages getting lost in the babble. Who is talking to whom and is anyone listening?
