What courage to write this! The author expresses brilliantly what I have subconsciously felt for many years and partially prompted me to leave practicing in the UK. It is only when you practice elsewhere that you realize how draconian the GDC has become. "Defensive Dentistry" with brilliant notes is the obvious path this leads to (or already has!) which is a disservice to the public and the profession. At present, I could honestly not advise anybody to study Dentistry if they intend practicing in the UK. |
